Senior Paint Your Parking Spot!

This week was senior yearbook photos and Senior paint your parking spot day! Holy Name has all Seniors pre-take their yearbook photos during the summer for IDs and other Senior activities for the year. Proof above. Heidi is done with photos until August 17th when we take her field photos aka Heidi running around in a field to get some fun shots.

Random dog and the boys cuddling pics:

We also snuck in our fantasy football draft order - we were going to do something else, but lack of time to plan another draft order event- led to us doing the same thing as last year. This year half of the league members joined us to watch.

On to Paint Your Spot! Holy Name is a little unique as all of their parking spots for students are assigned. It is not open parking and Senior's get to paint their spots. Other schools in the area have this activity too! Our luck it was a very very hot day - well over 100 degrees and it took us from 8am to 4:30pm to get done. The main issue was heat. You really could only paint a little bit, like 10 minutes before getting heat stroke and needing to rest. We had some lessons learned too - like create large stencils out of cardboard - so you can just roll out your design super fast! We hand drew ours, whoops! Heidi wanted a random flower design and it turned out super cute!

She also lucked out and her parking spot is right next to two of her best friends.

Heidi kept stepping in the paint and leaving little foot print everywhere!

The final product!

It was a lot of work and Heidi and I were both sore for 2 days after, but what a fun Senior activity! She even made the school's Instagram - ha!

We hope to enjoy the last few week's a summer!

Omaha

We had a great Omaha trip! I did so bad at taking pictures this time, I had to scrap some from other people. The time always goes so quickly and it is so hard to see everyone. We also decided to be crazy and squeeze in a photoshoot with Christina and Heidi. It was a lot of fun and we are so grateful for Christina to take the time for us!

The pictures are all out of order below but in general - our week was filled with many meals, a trip to the science center, Pizza Machine (with all of us racking in the tickets!), some pool time, driveway playing, shopping, puzzles, birthday celebrations, laughing with friends, and much more.

Val was very generous and offered her apartment for Chris to work. Work has been a little insane and it was really good for him to be able to separate himself and focus... of course we couldn't just USE her apartment, we had to also hide about 150 tiny Jesus' around her place.

Driving home was top 3 more challenging times. The storms were intense - we saw funnel clouds, hooks and rotation. We also saw storm chasers - so we knew it was going to be intense! Chris had to drive the whole way, as it was low visibility, heavy heavy rain and oh yeah - f-ing construction!

These are my pictures from my phone - not the real Christina ones!

A little sneak peak from Christina!

We wish we could stay longer, but work and school things call! We miss everyone already and can't wait to see everyone in November!
