We have been busy but also not if that makes sense. My favorite time of year where Christmas is over and all the planning and hardwork is done and I'm lucky enough to take time for the rest of break, see family, friends, be a bum, get caught on things, and relax!
Lucy is playing club volleyball this year and we had her first tournament this past weekend. It was great to have it flipped and be watching her instead of Heidi. Her team did great. They are all newer to volleyball, but get along well and I think are in for a fun season. They won a few games and fought for others and I can already see Lucy's growth in the sport. She is #8 and has purple shoes which might help find her in the pictures!
Volleyball tournaments are notoriously behind on schedule. I think they plan for 2 sets when most now go to 3. There are always awkward moments of standing between courts and hoping to find a seat. Chris was over standing after the already hour behind scheduled game went to 3 sets - so he sat at a random court instead. Heidi and I were teasing him, especially when we realized we knew people from that team - now he looks like he sat to watch some of Heidi's friends. ha.
We are excited for her season to begin! We have I think 6 or 7 more tournaments we are heading to! Now for randomness - Lucy expressed wanting to learn how to skateboard, so Noah was nice enough to do a quick lesson with her and his skateboard to confirm whether she REALLY wanted it or not. Lucy loved it.
Lots of movies were watched!
We had an impromptu hang out with the Belciks and celebrated NYE a day early. We sang, the kids put on a play and had a great time in their Christmas bar in their basement.
Jim's new name is Battery Daddy. We thought he was joking when a mic ran out of batteries, but this set is called the Battery Daddy. Nice.
Back to work - play time is over... hello 2026
