First Day of School, Volleyball, & Fantasy Football

Lucy finally started school! 8th grade! Top of the school and she is excited. She isn't excited for homework of course, but I can tell she is happy to be back around her friends. 

We also had another volleyball game and Lucy got to play all around since we were down a few teammates. She did GREAT. She made some serves over and she handled the front row well. We won! There are more photos below that Chris took since I was coaching again. 

We had to get Fiesta to celebrate afterwards. :) 

Saturday was our draft party. One couple had to drop out last minute, but the core group was ready to go. Jenn set the theme as wrong party. Chris and I dressed for a Highschool Muscial watch party. Jenn and Jim were for a Hawaii Luau, Frank and Bryan swimming pool and Jackie & Jeremy Taco Tuesday. I don't know what was funnier, when everyone would walk in or the fact, everyone kept dressed up the entire night. 

We started off the party with a WWE Royal Rumble to pick the draft order. Basically, we all chose a wrestler and then we do a computer generated royal rumble and based on when you are throw out of the ring is your draft order. It ended up being a lot of fun to watch.

Sunday, we ended up stopping by the St Jude Festival to support it. We played Bingo, bought some raffle tickets and tried to win a cake. For the first time, in ever, we actually didn't win a cake! Lucy did win Bingo though!

Like probably many others, we tried to watch the Husker/Missouri volleyball game at Wrigley, but the slippery court cancelled the game. Honestly, it was still fun to watch the players all dance and have fun. They may not have played a full match, but we still loved it.

Disney - Day 5 - The Final Day

Okay! One more photo dump. Our final day before we jetted off to Dallas was of course at EPCOT. We were excited to return to EPCOT and make the most of it. We did early entry and headed over to Test Track to get it in twice prior to the rain hitting. We waited 25 minutes - only because it was before park opened and then it was a walk-on - the rest of the time. Even Guardians was super fast to get on. I think they had fake wait times. On Monday, it had a wait time of 70 minutes, so we jumped in at the end of the day and actually it was less than 20 to get to boarding! 

It was more rainy this day AND it was the day before Food and Wine was supposed to open - this meant the crowds were kind of NOT existing. As well as the rain did keep some rides close and we kept hearing families jumping to another park with more rides. I get it, if you don't want to go to the countries, get snacks and drinks and take your time but instead just ride rides, EPCOT might not be the park for you. 

For us - it is exactly what we want to do - ride some great rides, but spend MOST of the time - just hanging out, chatting, shopping, snacking etc. 

For the main part of the storm, we were able to snag a table in the Rose and Crown Bar. It was a nice break in AC for sure - though...it did lead to maybe a couple more drinks...

I fed a squirrel. It looked hungry. Chris was not happy.

Lucy knows - if she needs to sit, sit. She can make her own shade etc. The UV umbrellas are key to surviving the rain AND the heat. 

I mean... where are the PEOPLE??? Just Lucy and I apparently.

This was the break during the rain storm. Lucy took the time to be on her phone, which was totally cool. It was the break we all needed.

Lots of rides, lots of snacks, lots of drinks and lots of fun. It was the perfect way to finish out our Disney trip! Until next time!
