Our Disney trip in the heat was a success! Were we a little crazy going to Orlando in August during a heat wave? Yes. But did we navigate it as best as we could and truly enjoyed ourselves - also yes!
Traveling was a little bumpy, our flight was delayed which meant for a quick scramble to dinner, but we did make it and the cast members were very nice to us even though we were late to our reservation. Flying Frontier is not ideal but it got us there eventually and we were on our way!
Our Lyft driver was awesome - he basically helped drop our luggage off at the hotel and helped us turn around and race to Disney Springs for dinner!
Chef Art Smith's Homecoming for dinner - never disappoints!
Monday was going to be a big day! We got up and ate breakfast early, headed into EPCOT for rope drop and even had extended hours. We did EPCOT well and walked over 11 miles that day!
The trick to surviving the heat were the little hidden AC spots like this. We had to rest about every hour to survive.
So much food!
This was for our neighbor Jason who was taking care of the dogs... it is an on going joke...
Shopping in Japan is everyone's favorite store.
Lucy wanted to meet Jasmine but the line was already closed. The cast members made sure to bring Jasmine by Lucy when she was done and had a great conversation with her. It was seriously super awesome. A magical moment for her birthday.
Another highlight was getting a very fun group to sing Happy Birthday to Lucy and got a whole lot of the area to sing along as well. Lucy loved it! They had made it around for Drinking Around the World and were hammered!
Very sweaty - but happy.
Many many breaks
We still had energy though to run around the Moana attraction
It rained or really stormed that evening which caused some rides to go down, but we still had fun running around in the rain. It cooled off the temperature a little, which was greatly needed. I think this day, the temp got up to 110 or 112 degrees in the sun.
EPCOT will always be our favorite. We just love all the food, the rides, the shopping and everything about it. We definitely needed a recovery day after 14 hours in the park!
