I wish vacation could last forever, but it was back to normal this week! We had a 2-day volleyball tournament for miss Lucy, a musical for our best friends the Belciks, and ended the weekend seeing my coworker's band play locally.
Since the photos decided to go backwards - Sunday night we made our way to Happy Dog - a popular hot dog / live music / bar place to enjoy some good food and great music. Their band, Reverend Lee, opened for another country band called Yarn and they were both great. My friend plays the bass (the one in plaid) and it was SO great watching his band and they sounded really great. It was country music, but done well. They played a mixture of their own music and other artists and were musically great and very entertaining. We truly want to see them again. You could tell they were all musically talented and that showcased first, which I welcome. I love when bands play well and sound great, even in a smaller venue. You could tell they know what they were doing.

The Yarn came on afterwards and had this very impressive guitarist that was fun to watch. The place wasn't huge but there is no way this guitarist didn't notice everyone just staring at him play. My only "complaint" (very loosely of a complaint) was the Yarn had their mics a wee bit hot and the lead was so loud, it actually took away from their performance. It seemed a little old school - just play loud and it will sound good - vibe - but overall still a really great and talented band. I could see why they had a good chunk of fans and following at the event.
We couldn't stay super late since it was a Sunday night, but it was great getting out and about!
Saturday - we ran errands and Chris and Lucy had a dinner date. In true fashion, no photos were taken even though they dressed up. sigh. Oh well. Afterwards we bought some new Lego sets and had some fun putting them together for the evening.
Remy's Life must be rough...
Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! The talented Nicholas was the lead in his high school musical for Beetlejuice jr. He. Did. Fantastic! It was high energy, funny, great singing and a very entertaining show. Heidi even kept getting the giggles at the gags they were doing. Nicholas even helped direct and choreograph some numbers in the show and it was IMPRESSIVE.
We put together a fun bouquet for him too as a congrats on such a big role!
Prior to the show, the Belciks and us went to dinner and some drinks to enjoy the super nice weather we were having!
We didn't mean to twin...
Speaking of nice weather - I'm just working along Friday afternoon and I look out to Chris mowing and Heidi sunbathing! We are all ready for consistent nice weather.
And volleyball... We had our second to last volleyball tournament. The team did ok - not great but not horrible. Lucy had some great plays and overall it was an enjoyable tournament. We just have 1 more in a couple weeks and we are done for the season!
I'm a little tired heading into Monday, but this week is filled with typical busy-ness and we are in full prep mode for graduation! It will be here before we know it.
