Sunday

This will be a random blog - nothing too exciting on the weekend - just Heidi being Heidi... She loves to run around in my shoes... Hey I think my shoes are cute too...

This is typical snack time now - Heidi has discovered Netflix and she has a variety to choose from. She loves Dora, Nai ho Kai-lan (yep Anne - we are all learning Chinese - I can count to 3 :) ) and Thomas the Train. Anyone else find Thomas the train extremely creepy? I do...

Awwww yes - potty training... it has began in full force - we have been toying with it for a long time - but it just didn't get anywhere - so for the last three weekends - it has been boot camp. Its going - OK - but I think its starting to work. Like this morning - Heidi woke up - sat on the potty and went - I didn't have to convince her - nice! She told her teacher she wasn't going potty on the toilet because she didn't have Minnie Mouse underwear - REALLY? That's the hold up? Well guess what we bought this weekend :)

Goof Ball Heidi...

We are trying to end all sippy cups - she doesn't take one to school - there are really two times we have them - 1. At bed with some water which we are buying a side table to her bed and this should end soon 2. V8 juice on the carpet. I have started to have her use sippy cups without the lids as big cups and that seems to be working as a great transition. And most of you know - I love straws and so does Heidi. Good thing we never have a shortage of straws around this place.

Playtime... this time - it was gathering her animals on the stairs (she said they were all in time out)

Took a break to steal my camera lens...

The weather man predicts 50 to 70 degrees this weekend...he better not be lying...

I organized the basement this weekend and brought back toyland. Its unfinished but plenty of room for Heidi to play or ride her bike or whatever. Here is your tour of the basement...

Stairs down...

Heading left from the bottom of the stairs...

Workbench the previous owners left... I still don't know how I feel about that...

Toyland... the previous owners left a large piece of carpet - I don't mind that - makes it easy for toyland!

TONS of storage!!! You can stack them two deep... (that's what she said)

Now its on to preparing the house for Grandpa Jeff and Nana Bev to come and visit! Very excited!!! And don't worry - I'm not going to put them to work this time... :)

Finally Outside!

Do you hear that? Yep - its the angels singing - we can FINALLY GO OUTSIDE! Damn snow and cold kept us cooped up for too long! It was nice light jacket weather and I LOVE IT! Heidi successfully participated in her Trike-a-Thon - she went around the gym two times. Which that is a lot for a 2 year old just learning her trike!

Thankfully we have a very long - mostly flat driveway - perfect for trike practice. She is still a tad bit too short to completely pedal normally - but she has learned to use her toes and its working out well.

She is still working on the whole look-where-you-are-going-steering thing - she ran off the road a few times. :)

Her other favorite thing to do outside is play with her lawn mower or her vacuum as she calls it. It has never worked with the bubbles (Papa Jeff and Uncle Matt put it together and I think I remember giggling and then having bubbles all over my couch...) but she doesn't even know its suppose to shoot anything out.

It just felt good to be out and in the sun and running around. I'm glad Spring is FINALLY HERE!

The Weekend

Here is another hodge podge of pictures...none of them super great - but entertaining just the same...

First - I am having the hardest time getting Heidi to commit to potty training. I can't find things that motivate her - treats - nope - toys - nope - stickers - nope - we have our good days and bad - well this weekend I tried to get creative and it worked for one day. If Heidi goes potty and poop on the toilet - she gets to put panties on the boys. You would have thought I gave her a million dollars - she loved it! Boys...um not so much.

Taco in his pair - doesn't he look just like Michael Jordan in his Hanes?

Brewski - I'm pretty he is thinking either - Mommy help me or F you.

See - she loved it...

Heidi is in love with our little small camera - don't worry - I decided I'm going to start including her pictures on here. We will get to that in a second...

So what's going to be tomorrow's motivation - I don't know - I haven't thought of it yet... She already thinks daddy wears panties - so that won't work...hmmmm....we will see....
Moving On...My future 401K...

She's getting older...

It was a weekend of I won't look at the camera - so please enjoy lovely side profiles of Heidi...

Heidi, Chris and I attended our first Cavaliers game (well Chris' 3rd) - it was a lot of fun. It helped that it was kid's day - so it was super kid friendly - tons of mascots, activities and entertainment. The whole time Heidi was very serious, even when she was clapping and I wasn't sure if she liked it or not - but afterwards - Heidi was hyper and excited and you could tell - she really enjoyed it.

And yes her mouth is stained from the Dippin Dots...

Well that's all I have from me - onto our new section of the blog I would like to call - Heidi's Picture Gallery... some may be blurry, some contain her finger, some may be just her feet - but I have hundreds of them... :)

Only Heidi could make her Disney PJs seem scandalise...

Until next time!

Shopping Heidi

Heidi LOVES to shop - but let me define this - she doesn't like to BUY things - just shop. She is very particular on what she will actually buy and if she doesn't like it - she won't wear it or want it and if you try to get her to get it - tantrum. This can be good and bad:

Good: We can go to multiple stores and she doesn't have to get anything - nor does she beg for something (yes I know this could change :) ) If she finds something she wants, she asks if she can have it - we don't always buy it unless we are like - you need new pajamas and she picks out pajamas - then we get them. We went to 2 toy stores this weekend as a reward for pooping on the potty - literally gave her free rein. First store nothing and the second one she finally picked out one small playmobile bunny farm thing - it was $7 and she was good to go. I even asked - do you want anything else and she is like no.

Bad: Let me give you an example - we went shoe shopping this weekend for Heidi - She needs tennis shoes/gym shoes/sneakers - we go shopping and we are like - Heidi you need new shoes and she is like okay - off she goes looking. She looks at every pair - I try to coax her along - what about these - do you like these - its no, no, no etc. Heidi can we try on these to check your size - okay - tries them on - looks in the mirror at them on her feet, "Mommy, I don't like them". Really???

SEVEN - yes 7 - stores later - we end up at the Nike store. She has four choices of shoes - she has me pull each one - tries them on by herself - and looks in the mirror each time. Finally - she tries on these turquoise and white ones (cute I may add) and she goes - "I want these ones". Whew - found some - now is to double check the size. So I go - okay Heidi let's try on these two sizes to make sure we get the right ones. She tries one size on one foot and one on the other and points to the bigger one - "I like these".

Now some people would be like - 7 stores - are you insane? However, she not only found the cutest ones (side note - many toddler shoes look like orthopedic old people shoes - why? I don't know) - she found the best value as well - $17.99 for nice Nike shoes - I don't mind. Plus she got them a size bigger - so she should be able to wear these for a long time.

She LOVES them - even took a nap in them and slept with them on Saturday night. She wore them to school today and stopped everyone on the way in to show off her new shoes. She is very passionate about her choices. I just hope one day she can shop for me :)

Here is Heidi in her new shoes and new shirt and yes she picked out the shirt as well. She likes the hood.

One more quick story from shopping - we went to the Coach store - my favorite :) and Heidi walks in and goes - this is Mommy's store - hahahaha - good kid. Then on the back wall they have the their sign and Heidi points to the H and goes - that's H like my name Heidi. Hehe - Chris is like - if you even get her liking coach purses - you're dead. :)
