This weekend was Bowling Green's family weekend! We decided to make the most of it and make a quick stop to check out a new car we are pondering purchasing prior to the weekend activities. Lucy was so thrilled to be up early, but we were off to Detroit to test drive a Rivian R2.
I did not take a ton of pictures as I was busy analyzing and figuring out if I like this electric car or not. The car is great. Very smooth driving, quiet, zippy (like REALLY FAST) and some really REALLY cool technology. Some aspects were just ok as it really is a car with most things simplified and less about luxury and more about the functionality etc. It had a crazy amount of storage built in and the seats were really comfy and nice. Silly things like the front cup holders were just okay - not totally crappy but I was surprised they weren't better. Weird things like that.
I was really analyzing each area of the car to see if I have any issues or not since to switch to an electric car and getting a whole set up at home would be an investment. The car was easy to drive and is smaller than my car (which is what I want), even though it doesn't seem like it in the pictures. We have some time before our window to purchase is open, so we have some further research to do before we have to commit, but overall, a very cool car.
After our test drive, we headed to BG for family weekend. Friday was more seeing each other, going out to dinner and hanging out. We had an early tailgate the next am and a marathon of a day on Saturday, so we all kept it relatively chill. Heidi also had a late night fraternity function, so she used the time to hang out and get ready for the event.
Saturday we were up early for the brisk morning to set up the tailgate with some friends of ours who also have kids at BG. It was COLD in the morning, but it did slowly warm up. The burgers and hot dogs were a hit and we played games and all hung out. It was a really fun time.
We headed into the game for a little bit. Heidi and Lucy wanted to see the 600 person band and I just wanted mini donuts. Was my time in the stadium mainly waiting for the donuts? Yes it was. Was it worth it? Yes it was.
Most people only hang out for the game for a quarter or two and head back out to the tailgates. A little different than a Husker football game.
