Quick Weekend

The weekend seemed to fly by with a flash! We spend the weekend planning out our summer and getting caught up on household chores...

The picture above is me trying to entertain Lucy all Sunday while Chris and Heidi were at a tournament...

We also had state testing last week for the girls. They did fantastic and it is always a little stressful.

Lucy doing Gym class - I'm not quite sure what she was suppose to be doing...

And volleyball... It was Chris' turn to go to the tournament and he got to sit in an unheated warehouse for 12 hours. He came home and was SO cold! Heidi's team did well - it started out really rough but they rallied back and ended up winning the Silver bracket. We now have a couple of weekend's off and don't have another tournament until Feb 13th.

I asked Chris to take pictures... I get the two through the net above and this.

Volleyball - Roomba & Fitness

We had a lot of firsts this week... first we started to set up our new Roomba. Remy hates it and was rather stressed. We are still figuring it out and it is still mapping our first floor. I have high hopes this will be awesome going forward!

Second - volleyball has started! We had our first tournament at Cedar Point this weekend and it went well. They are doing a slightly different format this tournament where the matches have a max of 50 minutes - it proved to be tricky in close games and we would have placed higher if it wasn't for the time limit. We literally missed to play for 3rd place by 1 point and about 10 seconds. Seriously. Even with that, our team did really well. The first tournament is always a little rough - figuring out the rotation and other things but we placed top 6 of the tournament in the Gold bracket. We couldn't have asked for a better start! I have lots of high hopes we actually have a team and can play. It was a little sad that Heidi isn't on the same team as her friends, but at least they were there and we could see them play a bit.

One thing we all have to get used to again is getting up super early to get to the tournaments! I was wiped out!

Lucy entertaining herself with some VR...

And Gym class scavenger hunts...

And our final first for the week was we FINALLY received our new gym equipment. It took forever to receive. I really like it. It is a little tricky with the ipad/tablet they give you and the bluetooth sync - we have had some buffering and issues - but I spent time yesterday downloading all updates and rebooting and so far so good! We are ready to get buff!

I think we are in for some fun volleyball! Heidi is improving her skills and the coach we have is great. He actually is great at giving feedback and pushing the girls. Go Spirit!

Whoops

So... I didn't take any pictures this week, which probably helps support that it was a busy week for sure! It was getting back to school, getting back to work, getting back to volleyball and just all around busy!

I just have a few moments of Lucy playing VR. She loves it. I actually played for the first time and love it too. It's easier than I thought it would be.

I really don't have too much to report. We basically finished getting the house back in order from Christmas and got bulk pick up ready for this week so we can finally get rid of all the boxes we have. Volleyball is about to take off. We are full steam ahead for games - only one parent and lots of rules, but we are excited!

Speaking of volleyball - Heidi had some amazing practices and you could tell she is excited - turns out - she was put in the all-around player position. I'm a little confused, but basically, she stays in the whole time. She does not rotate out like the other girls. There is one other girl who is a setter who will not rotate out, but everyone else will. This is amazing. We are very excited to see how the team plays and how everything goes. Our first game is Sunday!

What Day Is It?

We made it through the time between Christmas and NYE - where you don't know what day it is, calories don't count and the number of movies consumed is crazy! We sent a lot of family time just hanging out and not working. It was nice.

Bob turned 40 and Lauren set up a Zoom for family and friends to hang out~

NYE were as many games and activities as we could fit in...

Back this summer Lucy got a fun Jeep RC car that we all like to play with. Heidi asked for one for Christmas and while picking up lunch - Chris and I decided we needed ones too! We made an obstacle course and went round and round until our batteries died. They are fun little toys to play with.

2021 is off and running. We have high hopes for this year. Now it is getting back into our routines and work!
