Week 2 Summary with a Birthday

I think everyone is getting used to being home...we are all getting a little stir crazy... Wearing comfy clothes 24/7 is a perk and not having to do my hair is nice, but I also feel like I'm in the twilight zone. Get up, get ready for video calls, start kids doing homework, work, get constantly interrupted by kids doing their homework, work, play the game of what's for lunch, work, break up the 10th fight between the girls, work, let Remy out for the 20th time, work and then play what's for dinner. Anyone else feel the same?

It was my big 40th birthday on Saturday. Sad it wasn't the original plan of Val coming down, throwing a party and really celebrating. We did the best we could. The neighbors came over for one toast in our driveway, but the rain didn't help.

We have been trying to do more facetimes/zooms with friends and family - which is nice to be able to talk and see them.

Lucy has 3 Zoom meetings a week for intervention services. It's nice that she can still be working on her speech and reading.

This quarantine has increased this...a tad bit... I think its boredom...and trying not to kill my family...

The weather is still not that great, but I'm hoping it turns for the better soon. I try to send the kids out as much as possible. Plus it gives me a break from the constant - I need something...

Did I mention this has increased....

I went upstairs to find Chris working like this... whatever you need to make you feel like you are at the office. Nice legs...

This was Remy after he destroyed our bed with running laps...

It WAS a good week - we FINALLY got our new dishwasher AND our new stove. We had them basically just drop them off to limit exposure and then Chris actually installed them himself! They are super nice and I'm so happy not to be doing dishes and trying to creatively cook dinner!

It has been interesting trying to work while Lucy and Heidi do school or Lucy does her "pretend mode"... you can only imagine...

We played Toy Story Monopoly for my birthday. Chris says I was ruthless and wiped the board... I mean... this is real life - they need to learn! hahaha

It was ok weather yesterday but took a nice long walk, which felt great.

And week 3 has begun... Remy was helping Lucy do her homework by licking her feet. Gross.

Oh yeah - Remy turned one last week too!

I gave Val an early birthday present of a pillow of my face. She had fun this weekend with it. We did a workout, I was on a family call, we golfed and she even sang me happy birthday. It was very creative and fun.

Distance Learning

We made it through week 1! I think the most affected person in our family is Remy. He was super excited to have people home on a regular basis and he is going on walks and everything....BUT he isn't getting his 12 hours a sleep now. Yesterday I watched him lay there and he could not keep his eyes open!  He will be 1 on Tuesday!

It is challenging to work from home for a new job where I'm still trying to figure things out and have two kids who are distance learning full time. I have split everything into things they can do on their own and where I have to help. I split the me having to help to only one thing a day and I can usually manage. Its going to be interesting as this continues!

Chris hung the mirror and hardware in our little bathroom. I love it!

Lucy has had speech, reading and other intervention services via Zoom. It has been pretty nice. The only down part is we have to do it on my work computer...but my work is COMPLETELY understanding.

We still don't have a stove/oven or a dish washer. We have reordered again for the 5th time. We had to reorder so they could split our order up. We will see if we actually get it. I have gotten pretty creative in making food and we bought an air fryer. We love this thing. Veggies are really good in it and grilled cheese!

I made a rule for the weekend, we cleared the table of all school and work and we played games. We ran out of games, but we played as many games as I could think of.

And like everyone else in America... we completed a puzzle!

Week 2 is prepped and organized!

Just Hanging Out

Let the quarantine begin...we learned that Ohio is kind of leading the charge with this social distancing and self quarantine. They shut down schools for 3 weeks, Volleyball cancelled for 3 weeks, All restaurants to be carry out only until 9pm. Grocery stores have edited hours and are shutting down bakery and deli counters. We have supplies and we are hanging out! I hope this works. I hope it means we can have less of a spike of people getting sick and the hospitals then can handle everyone. I get that we don't want to be like Italy. When Cleveland Clinic comes out and says they would not be able to handle a spike of illness and friends are being called back into nursing from administrative or other jobs, you know they know something we don't.

Staying home - we are in the mode of self entertaining. First up - Forts!

Chris was installing the new hardware into our bathroom - so why no teach Heidi power tools...

Remy has been exhausted. He isn't getting his 12 hours a sleep while we are gone...

Don't worry we have more toilet paper. A normal supply of it, nothing crazy like some people. Let's hope it doesn't come down to using unmatched socks :)

Lucy has been fine with self entertaining...

Heidi came out of her room for a few minutes for a snack... I think their entire class has been doing video calls or playing games together. I don't mind as she is at least social interacting...

Oh, we still do not have a stove/oven or dishwasher... Lots of dishes...

Let school begin! We are doing distance learning. Heidi said she is managing her own but we are trying to keep Lucy on top of things. We will see how this goes! I hope its max of only a few hours a day as I have to work too!
