Floors and Volleyball

It has been crazy for us for sure! First, we FINALLY got new floors. It has been a long time coming. We are also getting a new stove and dishwasher - I say getting as they have been delayed. We are now on week 2 without a stove and dishwasher - yikes!

Anyways - here are some before and after of the floors. They are the Luxury Vinyl - water proof, kid and dog proof and perfect for our family of crazies. We also got a new vanity for the downstairs bathroom. It drives us nuts not to have any type of storage in that bathroom.  We have a new mirror and light fixture too, but that will be installed after painting is done. We have our painter guy, Bob, coming in a week to do all the bathrooms and all of baseboards and doors! Exciting times!

Chris worked from home for about a week while the floors were getting done... I think Remy enjoyed having someone home. :)

Office dog #2 - This is Maddie a rescue Husky. She is shy but very sweet. I have won her over with treats of course!

For cheer, they had their big CYO championship. Heidi missed it because of volleyball, but they won! I can't believe it. So proud of my squad this year!

We have two different volleyball tournaments this weekend. First was a smaller 8 team tournament. We had a really tough pool in the beginning and the top two teams were in our group. We ended up going to the silver bracket, but we won! 5th place overall. The girls looked good. The next day we had a bigger 16 team tournament. The girls were amazing! We rocked it and ended up going to the GOLD bracket. We were SOOOOO close to being in the championship game. We went to three sets and lost 16 to 18. It was incredibly exciting to watch and even the officials hung around to watch our game. Heidi did amazing. We are excited for more tournaments and to see this group continues to improve!

Lucy is a good trooper at these all day tournaments. The team has adopted her and help entertain her between games. Plus plenty of nachos and candy helps. :) I think Lucy knows all the parents and siblings and players better than us!

This is a quick picture of Heidi after she served 18 times in a row - 18 TIMES! She got points for 17 of them. SO impressed. I know I'm bragging, but I'm so proud of her. She couldn't even serve overhand when she started and would come home crying and frustrated. She learned, practiced and now is the most consistent server on the team.

This week - we have our final cheer practices - one last competition and another larger volleyball tournament. Busy times, but we are loving it!
