Games - Turkey - Christmas

 

Christmas has arrived! We are not done decorating, but we managed to get all three trees up inside and decorated outside too. We still need to do the fireplace and a couple other smaller things - but it's feeling like Christmas! I also was on a mission to wrap as many gifts as possible. I used basically old Amazon boxes for everything - so they look larger than what is in inside and I promise many of those gifts are just tiny little things! I made a point of trying to NOT use any new wrapping paper - I have about 12 half used rolls downstairs that I gathered after I cleaned the basement and I managed to go through 8 already!

I sent this picture of pancakes to Heidi to get her out of bed... we have hit the teenager - I'm going to try to stay in bed until 10am phase...

The Disney tree lives again. I wasn't going to do this one but the girls got mad. They said this is their favorite where I love the different ornament one that we put gifts under. I've gotten better at creating it and got it done in about an hour.

Whenever Chris gets on the phone - Remy feels he needs to harass Chris. I think he was talking to Grandma Gonzales in this one - ha!

Thanksgiving week was filled with many games and LOTS of food! Chris brined and smoked two turkey breasts and they were amazing. I made several side dishes and we all ate like kings. It was NOT the same as being in Omaha for Thanksgiving - not at all - we REALLY missed everyone. We made the best of it as we could. I know we can see family at some point, but missing the holidays is especially hard. 

Lucy had her Flat Stanley project to do over Thanksgiving. They aren't sending them out like they have done in years past. We almost forgot but after a 2 minute photo shoot - we are good!

We zoomed a lot over the week but this time was with our friends the Belciks... it was fun catching up and having a happy hour together!

About 3 weeks until Christmas break. We supposedly have a huge snow store rolling in - we will see! Now to finish getting everyone gifts and hoping the last few arrive!

Making the Most of It...

This is what happens when you do virtual school and a break from remote work... I laughed when I came upon them...

Anyways - we have come to Thanksgiving week and we are going to try to make it the best as possible even though we are all very sad we aren't in Omaha right now. We are trying to distract ourselves and hope we can Zoom or Facetime throughout the week to at last see people!

Remy loves to lick Lucy's feet - I can only imagine how gross they are. I have a video of it too but it is GROSS!

We are bored in the house and just burning off some energy...

Chris did an overnight brisket. The benefit of the new smoker - you can trust it and it is wifi enabled. You monitor everything from your phone. 

We decided it was time to go through the toy room. This pile, was pile #4... we organized what we could and got rid of what we could. So much stuff!

The brisket turned out amazing!

The baby gates are down and now Remy is allowed in this room. We also backed up our desktop computer and put it away for good! We turned our cabinet into the liquor cabinet. It works!

This week Chris and the girls have off and I have vacation starting tomorrow afternoon. We plan to cook a bunch and try to entertain ourselves. We miss everyone but there will be Thanksgivings in the future. Stay safe everyone!
