Volleyball

We finally got the snow that Omaha was experiencing! The girls enjoyed not one but TWO snow days! The boys had some fun in the snow as well. 

We had the kick-off volleyball tournament  - that started off.... very rough. Heidi's volleyball club is brand new and Heidi joined because she liked the coaches and wanted a fresh start. I think we saw 6 or 7 different rotations of players - which is never a good sign for a volleyball team... 

Heidi went from playing back row defensive (which is what she does) to front row and all around and eventually setting again! The other girls were lost on the court and a little painful to watch. The last few games they had Heidi starting setting before rotating to right side/front row. I was very proud of Heidi. She doesn't love setting, but she can do it and really did a great job.  

She rolled with the punches of the ever-changing line-up and then she took control of that court. She ran that court and showed the other girls what to do. She honestly did! They finally won a game straight out and they looked halfway decent. Still bumpy - still going to need to get these girls to be MORE aggressive, but I'm hoping we actually win some games along the way. 

 

The Flu...

I have been down for the count for a few days but I am feeling better now. I have been isolated in the guest bedroom with my phone and the dogs. Luckily, I seemed to be the only one who got sick (I had to go into the office last week and I know I picked it up there). 

Nothing too much is going on - Heidi has her first volleyball tournament this weekend. It is also Rizzo's 3rd birthday this weekend! Heidi has been driving more and more and has been on the main streets. She passed her online learning and we will be scheduling in-person driving very soon!

We had volleyball picture day. I got to meet the team and they are very nice, but it will be interesting to see how this first tournament goes. Heidi is in the bottom left. 

 Back to work in the freezing cold and happy to be healthy again!

Merry Christmas Break

We had a lovely Christmas break, complete with some visitors from Omaha. Then NYE we did nothing and it was glorious. Here is Christmas!

Santa gave everyone fun blankets... Chris was an upgrade snuggie you can wear - Lucy got a Comfy, I'm a shark and Heidi got a Comfy that holds Rizzo too.

It was a great time off - now it is back to work, volleyball tournaments begin in a few weeks, and school starts tomorrow!
