Spring was teasing us this weekend. We got to at least hang outside a few times and give us hope of better weather in the future!
One last cheer event - the end of the year gathering - one last craft.
Silly sock day at school for Down Syndrome Awareness Day - I believe...
We decided to explore the newer Fat Heads location. It felt like a brewery and distribution center. The food was good - different atmosphere, but good. It was cool to change things up!
Enjoying the weather!
Spring Break can't get here soon enough!!! So close!

Anthony Gonzales
We lost a bright soul last week. Grandpa Gonzales has gone to heaven and will be greatly missed. Chris luckily headed to Omaha quickly and was able to spend some last moments with him. The girls are processing it and still trying to understand what it all means. The girls and I traveled up this last week and it was nice to see the entire family. The visitation and funeral were very nice, especially where he is buried. We are going to miss him greatly.
He was always up for watching some good ole Sci Fi and somehow if some bizarre movie was on about some large creature attacking something, he had already seen it. :) We enjoyed our visits and old stories of him dancing when he was young, running marathons or how we could always make him laugh. He had a big heart and loved the girls a lot. He will be missed. I gathered as many pictures as I could of him...
The girls did great traveling to Omaha. We only had one hiccup of Lucy singing the Gummy Bear song for 20 minutes straight. You are welcome business travelers for my kids annoying you. :)
There is something peaceful about the back roads of Omaha...
We cannot thank my family enough for supporting us during our visit and hosting Chris as well.
One silver lining is the entire situation is the family did gather and it has been awhile. It was wonderful to see Chris' sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles and more.
Lucy figured out her job through this whole event, she was the comic relief. Lucy was Lucy the entire trip. She made new best friends, made people laugh, made people color, look at pictures and talked about Disney. She is a character.
We drove back this weekend and little tired Lucy was not happy about waiting for a restroom. More importantly, she is rocking my 1980's sweatshirt of my uncle's old store. Nice.
We are back home and getting back into the swing of things. Its back to normal or finding the new normal for some family members. I'm hoping the spring weather comes and helps brighten our days.

And...Cheer is DONE
We did it! We survived another cheer season! It was fun, it was difficult to find places and times to practice, but the girls did great! We just need to throw a party and can close out the year!
First - scrunchies are coming back in full force! Its crazy!
And... with the end of cheer, Heidi all of a sudden now wants to do volleyball. So... starting Wednesday she is doing some volleyball clinics to see if she wants to play on a team in the fall! We had fun running errands...
I decided to go an adult route for the coaches gift... J=Jim Beam, A= Absolute, G=Grey Goose, S=Skyy... Go JAGS!
Saturday night before our big competition, we decided to relax and watch the new Wreck it Ralph.
Final competition! The girls did well. We made a few more mistakes but still managed to squeeze out 2nd place. We will take it. Also - Heidi did amazing in the jump contest. She placed 2nd overall out of about 40 girls. It was a three round event! Chris got her first toe touch and her double on camera but missed her amazing herkie!
Little Lu and Cheer Dad Chris congratulating her and Lucy checking out her medal!
And the adults had to celebrate too!
Random - it was Dr Seuss day or something at Target - Lucy LOVED it.
And GREAT news! Lucy's let is FINALLY healed. She has been released! We are super excited for it! She was already jumping and doing cartwheels all over the house! She even said she wants to start dance - yikes!
