Anthony Gonzales

We lost a bright soul last week. Grandpa Gonzales has gone to heaven and will be greatly missed. Chris luckily headed to Omaha quickly and was able to spend some last moments with him. The girls are processing it and still trying to understand what it all means. The girls and I traveled up this last week and it was nice to see the entire family. The visitation and funeral were very nice, especially where he is buried. We are going to miss him greatly.

He was always up for watching some good ole Sci Fi and somehow if some bizarre movie was on about some large creature attacking something, he had already seen it. :) We enjoyed our visits and old stories of him dancing when he was young, running marathons or how we could always make him laugh. He had a big heart and loved the girls a lot. He will be missed. I gathered as many pictures as I could of him...

The girls did great traveling to Omaha. We only had one hiccup of Lucy singing the Gummy Bear song for 20 minutes straight. You are welcome business travelers for my kids annoying you. :)

There is something peaceful about the back roads of Omaha...

We cannot thank my family enough for supporting us during our visit and hosting Chris as well.

One silver lining is the entire situation is the family did gather and it has been awhile. It was wonderful to see Chris' sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles and more.

Lucy figured out her job through this whole event, she was the comic relief. Lucy was Lucy the entire trip. She made new best friends, made people laugh, made people color, look at pictures and talked about Disney. She is a character.

We drove back this weekend and little tired Lucy was not happy about waiting for a restroom. More importantly, she is rocking my 1980's sweatshirt of my uncle's old store. Nice.

We are back home and getting back into the swing of things. Its back to normal or finding the new normal for some family members. I'm hoping the spring weather comes and helps brighten our days.
