Labor Day weekend means first Husker game and our annual church festival!
I don't run the event any more but I still try to donate my time and cakes! The cake wheel sure does make a lot of money off $.25 bets!
We also had our second weekend of volleyball and Heidi is doing SO well! She is a natural and we are so impressed on how she is just jumping in and playing!
It was our first Husker game! Everyone got decked out and we had fun watching the game. Even Remy has a shirt!
Remy got a little excited when Chris got excited for a touchdown!
Sunday was the church festival and we had a great time.
Funny story...
We have this gambling game that we call the Big 6 Wheel at the festival. Imagine a large roulette wheel type of thing - you place your dollar bets on 1 to 6 and then they spin the wheel. You then have the chance to triple your money... if your number comes up once, you get your bet, comes up twice, double etc etc.
It is always a little gray to let the kids play. If a parent is standing right there, they find it fun putting dollars down -no harm no foul. So miss Lucy played a little with a fellow mom and myself and we had fun. The parents moved on to other events and the girls went to play kids games. The girls get to run around the festival basically with friends as there isn't a ton of places to go and there are more teachers and parents running around.
Fast forward I see Lucy walking with a handful of cash.. I'm like - "Lucy...where did you get that money?" She points to the Big 6 Wheel... come to find out... she walked up to a random dad at the Big 6 Wheel, convinced him to give her a dollar, then proceeded to turn that $1 to $20, gave the original dollar back to the random dad, fist bumped and went to go buy more cotton candy... I guess several parents and teachers witnessed this and said it was so hilarious... she was shouting for 3s to hit and the whole nine yards... yep. Lucy the gambler.
Recovering...
And with every damn festival...we have a fish again...I give it 3 weeks tops...
