Yeah! We did it - we have only this week left of school. I'm super excited to be done with distance learning. The kids have mixed emotions... Heidi is excited because she doesn't have to do anything anymore and most her melt downs were related to homework. Heidi doesn't like a list of to dos looming over her, she wanted to get everything done in one to two days, which isn't how distance learning always works.
Lucy on the other hand, isn't going to miss the work but she said she liked when Chris or I would help her. If you think about it, her school work makes us step away from work during the day to spend time with Lucy. I think Lucy is afraid she will be alone all day while we work, which could easily happen.
We probably aren't getting a sitter this summer as I have been told I can work remote until at least the fall and even Chris isn't going back until July. Also, the pool won't be opening, no camps, no zoo etc. I'm not quite sure what the babysitter would do. Also, having a non-family member in the house always poses as a risk. Chris and I have been brainstorming and I think we plan to get several of those subscription boxes. You can get boxes for cooking, science, art etc. I think we will have to plan a daily activity with Lucy and then give Heidi just something to do during the week. We will come up with a plan...
Anyways - some random pictures from last week...
This bribe of pin trading it amazing! Dishes and laundry and so many other chores handled for pin trades!
This week is the school's potato olympics! It should be a fun way to end the school year. Lucy wanted a super hero version of course!
Gotta love zoom sessions with Babs. :)
We picked up some Arsenal Cider this weekend and it is AMAZING! You ordered online, pulled up to the curb and boom - they magically put in in your trunk!
It was gorgeous on Saturday. We took a long Jeep ride to run errands, then we just hung out. Some neighbors came and social distanced with us. It was so nice, we even got out a sprinkler for Lucy!
Chris got super excited and ordered a large popcorn machine for us. He loves popcorn - like has always REALLY loves popcorn. We are watching several movies a week and he thought it could be fun for the family. It was fun! The girls made little beds and we all enjoyed the best popcorn ever!
The pin trading continues. It really is fun... Chris is OWNING being the pin master - its pretty funny and entertaining...
Remy completed the first few days of us training him to stay in the front yard. He did GREAT! I'm hoping he continues to do well and we don't have to worry about him running off or anything!
Bring on the last week of school!!!
