We have our new counters!!! And after they were installed we decided not to paint our cabinets - we actually like them now - who knew different counter tops could make such a difference! The cabinet doors are getting new hardware and Chris should be starting the back splash soon... but here are a couple of in progress pictures...
The nice weather has finally arrived! And just in time for Rib Fest - Ribs seem like a good reason to go be outside - eat and drink beer... and that's what we did!
First the girls were very photogenic this weekend...
Heidi got her hair braided there...it was a good mixture of adult activities (food - beer - music - beer) and then had some kid stuff mixed in there too. The face painting was right in front of a stage and the line was too long - but Heidi preferred to get her hair braided anyways.
One highlight - a grown 30-year-old man with a full tiger face paint job. Heidi walked up to him to tell him she liked his face (no prompting from us) - he was a pretty funny guy and had fun with Heidi as we randomly ran into each other. Why didn't I get a picture!
The girls were fantastic and were entertained by the crowds and by each other as well!
Why don't I post pictures of myself - because this what I have to choose from... I don't know what is better - my sweaty self - or that all the people in the background are cops...
Lucy fell asleep people watching...
It was time to get inside, cool off and rest before our journey home...
It was a fun day - we all got a little sun (except Lucy) and danced and enjoyed ourselves...
Sunday we actually *GASP* went to church and officially joined - I know- about time. It turns out we knew quite a few people from our neighborhood, school and gymnastics that attend. See Mom - we do go to church! :)
Lucy and Heidi already to go!
I'm playing single mom this week as Chris is in New York doing a special GE leadership training class. So far so good - I haven't burnt down the house and the kids are fed...but we will see- it's still a long way from Friday...
