We had a very busy last two weekends - here are a lot of pictures of our active time! Before we dive into the awesome visit we had - GE had a family fun day - so the girls got to come and play around where we work! My floor at GE is an open concept - I call it the trying to be Google floor - well a 6 year old and 2 year old...don't really mix with a quiet floor. It was pretty funny seeing Lucy yell all the way down the hall and march herself around -let's just say - we didn't stay on my floor long. We went to Chris' office instead - at least we can close the door!
I tried to take pictures of the girls in front of the large trees at Nela Park - but Lucy was too busy - being herself.
They were having a good time in Chris' office...
On to the fun - they had all sort of blow up things - carnival games - balloons - face painting etc. GE always does a nice job and the girls seem to enjoy it!
That night we had a Christmas in July party at the neighbors. It was a blast. I did not take any pictures but there is a picture of Chris in his Christmas sweater floating around somewhere...
Last Saturday to help pass the time before my parents arrived - we went to a Frozen themed art day. It was really nice. Small enough group that the characters really interacted with the kids. All the neighbor kids went as well!
THEN - it was off to Heidi's friend Lucy's birthday party!
These three are quite the troop! Ashley, Lucy and Heidi!
THEN it was finally time to wait for Grandma and Grandpa! It worked out perfectly- we were hanging out at Lucy's house until 15 minutes before they arrived. Made it easy to manage the girls expectations and made the time fly!
We had a wonderful visit with Grandma Babs and Grandpa. I can't believe a week already flew by! First my mom brought up my old tee pee tents and the kids love love love them. And they are still in good condition!
It was hard to capture Grandma reading to Lucy in her tent!
The dogs also like it when they come - someone to pay attention to them!
I was able to take a couple days off while they were here - so off to the zoo we went. Here it was July and we all had jackets on - so weird! I do have to say it was nice not to be dying of sweat at the zoo!
Oh - this is the clean picture - but we got a full education at the zoo - thanks to the elephants...
Kids didn't notice or understand - whew...
Of course we have to stop in the play area again. They just love it. Grandpa was good at constructing for the water area.
We got to see the baby giraffe!
One day Grandma didn't feel well - so I whipped out a puzzle to help her feel better. Heidi was also battling a cold all week. Finally took her to the doctor and she has pneumonia! Seriously! Her fever finally broke today and besides a lingering cough that the doctor said could stick around for a month - she is in better spirits!
We were able on the last day to go to Lake Erie for a little bit. It was a beautiful day!
We ended the visit with Chris making a brisket. The best brisket he has ever smoked. I think it took 13 hours or something crazy like that. It was good. Very proud.
Lucy opening some early birthday presents
The girls were clean and not crusty - so as everyone was packing - I took some pictures!
The girls were trying to help them pack the car. Lucy didn't quite understand why she wasn't going too.
It was a great visit - too fast. We won't see them until November! Lucy will probably be talking a lot more! Speaking of Lucy progressing, today she randomly took off her diaper (with help from Heidi) sat on the training potty and went potty! She even wiped herself! Then she came and asked for a new diaper and went on her way. I don't think I'm ready to potty train just yet!
Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for making the long drive here and being in our crazy-ness. We all miss you guys!
Bring on Lucy's 2nd birthday!!!
