We finished some other "To Dos" this last week. Heidi learned how to change out a door handle and we practiced Lucy going through what she needs to do each morning - ie: Brush hair, teeth, make bed etc.
We installed our new printer and it is WAY better than the old one. Prints like a champ and has a huge ink capacity! We installed it just in time for school and have already printed lots of items including a 43 page math workbook!
While setting up the printer - Chris chose some random picture to test... This picture has now become famous in our house and Heidi has hid it around the house - like in Chris' magazine he reads or in his underwear bin. It has been fun! Sorry Brett! hehe
Random Remy
Last week we had our test run of school. It went well! Lucy was at first a little sad because she couldn't see other people - but me playing around with the settings - boom - she can see her other classmates and most importantly herself - ha! Best thing about school so far - she has had to keep her room clean!
Remy was stressed during the trial run - he could hear talking and couldn't figure out why everyone was in their rooms. He didn't know who to hang out with!
Heidi has grown up and she is now getting her haircut with my lady. One - we are the only ones in the salon, unlike Chris would normally just take her to Great Clips. Heidi LOVED it! Crap! ha. She got her hair washed and styled and close to 6 inches cut off!
We also had our first volleyball games! The school did an awesome job of keeping it as safe as possible - limited people could attend and they cleaned the balls after every point. Heidi did awesome! They won on Saturday and barely lost on Sunday. I really hope we can continue to play and everything is ok, it is just a joy to watch Heidi!
We had one nice day this weekend for Labor Day Weekend - maybe a little too chilly to swim, but the girls were committed!
Lucy got a little cold!
Chris cooking his pork!
Lucy entertaining herself.
Remy is a good sport.
Meat!
On Sunday, it was Heidi's second volleyball game and Lucy obviously can't go - we wouldn't take her anyways, but CYO has a rule only one guardian only. Chris went Sunday and the rule is; whomever stays home with Lucy, she gets to decide what we do. It is a fun 3 hours, but also exhausting! This kid has a lot of energy! First - she wanted full glam makeup and hair!
Then we played 4 games - 4 different games...
Then it was drawing and coloring time. Whew!
It was raining the rest of the weekend, which meant it was perfect for watching the new Mulan movie. The movie is beautiful - so gorgeous. I think it is well done; of course I miss the playfulness of the cartoon, but I don't think that was the goal of this movie. Lucy is in love with it - any movie where there is a strong, fighting female lead - she is all in! We have already watched it three times!
First day of school - FINALLY! The girls are excited today and so far so good! They are set up well and the teachers are doing the best as they can. We will see how this week goes!
Summer is over!
