Taco, Omaha and a New Jeep

This is going to be a long one...

First, It was time for Old Man Taco is join Brewski in doggie heaven. He made it 15 1/2 years - which is pretty impressive. Tuesday night (March 27th) he seemed stressed out and was making this weird sound - something between a teeth chattering and the sound from the movie Predator. The next morning, which happened to me my birthday, he was still not acting right. Chris volunteered and took him to the vet and it was bad news. Basically, they think something was affecting his throat - maybe cancer, maybe an infection - but it was swelling close and he was not comfortable any more. He had lost a bit of weight since Christmas and really slowed down eating. Plus, he was blind, had no control of his bowels and couldn't hear. It was time to let him go. He will be missed, he was beyond a wonderful dog and we have enjoyed talking about all the fun memories with Taco.

To help distract our grief, we had a trip to Omaha for Easter. Before we get to ALL those pictures, I have some random ones that I never shared...

Heidi and Lucy playing nicely together...

Lucy LOVES LOVES LOVES make up, especially, lip stick. I now have to keep it away from her. It will be interesting with this one!

We randomly got some ice cream one day and Chris got something that they put little eyes on it. It was funny.

It was my birthday and we did eventually celebrate it the following few days. Chris got my an Apple Watch, which I'm loving - still figuring it out - but so far so good. We also went to our favorite Mexican restaurant, where they decided I didn't need dessert but a Tequila shot - man. That was rough.

Before we knew it - it was off to Omaha! We have been splitting up the time again and using the hotel points that Chris racks up. The girls enjoy the hotel rooms and its nice not to be SO tired when we visit from the long drive.

We made it to Omaha and jumped right into Easter celebrations! First up was the never ending Easter egg hunt at Grandpa and Grandma Babs.

The kids were SO excited for their overloaded Easter baskets! Blake was excited, but he has hit the age of being a little too cool for things...which makes it super fun to mess with him.

Toy phone - 1...Chris - 0

We squeezed in a sleepover with matching PJs... don't worry - this sharing of a bed lasted all about 5 minutes...

Church and family pictures!

After church, we went over to the Gonzales' for another Easter egg hunt and great company! Great Grandma Gonzales AND Aunt Carmen also joined us, which was wonderful. The girls were crazy as ever and had a good time.

After the Gonzales' - it was time for the third and final Easter Egg hunt. This time, it was a scavenger hunt that the kids LOVED! Nana did a great job at making it hard for the older kids and fun for the little ones.

Unfortunately, Chris and I had a work a lot this week, but the grandparents did a great job entertaining them while we were always on calls etc. I did sneak off on Monday for a couple of hours to enjoy the Omaha zoo in 25 degree weather!

Grandma and Nana took the kids to the Children's Museum twice too! The kids haven't stopped talking about it.

We also briefly met a couple of people out for drinks on Tuesday. It was a really good time...as maybe you can tell...

We ended the trip with a nice dinner at Zios pizza and had to get on the road the next day due to weather.

We hope future trips to Omaha, we don't have to work as much. It was still great to see everyone and I know the girls had a blast. We miss everyone already and can't wait to see them again!

Since we got home a day early and after sleeping for a full 12 hours Friday night - seriously. 12 hours. Chris new car was FINALLY in and we went to pick it up. Chris is beyond giddy about his new toy. We all love it and can't wait until the weather is nice and we drive around with out the roof!

Oh - one more random picture and the girls went to the Amazing Pizza Machine in Omaha too! They were BUSY and can't thank the grand parents enough for entertaining them!
