What a busy week and weekend - which means we must be getting back to normal. It was Halloween and Heidi made a deal with me to be a sheet ghost this year in exchange for a toy that she wanted. She ended up having to change as she couldn't see walking around and kept falling, but for a moment - it was glorious.
Lucy didn't Trick-or-Treat obviously, but she was the master of candy...until she became bored and decided to color and watch YouTube Kids. We handed out large candy bars this year, mainly thanks to a sale at Sam's Club and I think, if we can do it, we will forever do it! WAY easier than giving out a handful of candy or trying to not give too much or too little. Plus, kids in general get excited for the big ones. AND we ate less because, I mean, if I'm going to eat a whole candy bar, I have to REALLY want it. Also, we did a social experiment and put out apples too - you would not believe how many kids chose apples over candy - interesting!
Heidi couldn't wear costumes to school, but she did get to dress down for Halloween!
Lucy went back to school on Friday, just for a half day to see how it would go. Let's just say, she got PLENTY of attention!
It's Saint day or whatever and luckily she picked one that just looks like a nun in pictures. Thank you Amazon Prime for getting a nun costume here quickly. Easiest Saint project to date!
Each day Lucy is doing better. She is able to sit up and move a little herself. It doesn't hurt her to pick her up anymore etc. Everyone has been so supportive and generous and Lucy is being showered in gifts and cards. She is loving it!
On top of all the fun - it was CHEER COMPETITION weekend! We had our little 4th and 5th graders compete in the 6th grade division. They did fantastic and won 1st place. Now - we ended up being separated from the 8th grade, which we originally were going to go against, but with our scores, we still would have been in 3rd/4th place in the 8th grade division. Not bad at all!
Heidi also competed in the jump contest against 40 other girls and ended up in the top 10. I won't know her final placement until I see the score sheets, but she did really well! She is hungry for more now! Very proud!
Yep. This Happened.
The Belcik's grandparents (TomKat as we call them) - gave Lucy a present, but made it special. They actually put a cast on a doll - just like Lucy! How sweet is that. Lucy was in awe when she opened it up. She is like - it's just like me!
This week is get Lucy back to school full time and Heidi has drama club tryouts! We will see!
