8th Grade Dance and Volleyball Wrap Up!

Heidi had her 8th-grade dance! I took as many pictures as possible, but it's hard to interrupt a teenager in motion...

Here are the kids who all went to Kindercare as little ones.

The 4 besties and how they are going to 4 different schools!

A cute moment was caught by a dad as we entered the pre-gathering for the dance.

Random - we had a tornado warning in our area so we headed to the basement as a precaution. We were halfway through trialing hair for the dance and Heidi wanted to show me how she really uses our punching bag...

We had to have tequila for Cinco de Mayo...

Dogs were dropped off at the kennel. We had to board them because everyone we normally ask to babysit was at the same tournament. They did ok. The owner said they didn't eat and seemed a little stressed. Let's just say they are happy to be home.

Okay, back to the dance... This was just the predance event in our neighborhood. We had a pretty nice turnout from everyone.

It is a great group of kids...

After the dance - the 8th graders came back and hang out a little more...

The next day we were off to Columbus for OVRs. The final tournament for this season. We were a little tired, but luckily we didn't have to play Saturday and got to travel and relax.

It wouldn't be volleyball without an early morning game!

OVRs had 60 courts... 60! It was kind of insane... I spent my Mother's Day sitting in a pop-up chair, listening to yelling and whistles. Overall Heidi played great! Their team made it to the higher bracket and had the momentum to continue. Unfortunately, some of her teammates just run out of gas and couldn't find the energy to play well. Her coach also does not play to win. Several times during the tournament, some players should have sat, especially if we went to 3 sets. Heidi missed out on receiving a medal by two sets. She is really bummed but also glad to be done with this team. Now it is onto high school volleyball!

Now we take a break from volleyball and focus on the end of 8th grade! Then it is SUMMER!
