Apple Orchard
I'm going to rush and try to do a blog - Lucy is in the that - need to go to sleep - but too tired to fall asleep - so I want to cry but not really cry - mode - if you get my drift. Our plan is a nice bath and bottle and hopefully she is out for a chunk of time tonight!
Sometimes I have to set down Lucy randomly - this time it was in the middle of our living room so I could get a delivery at the door...and she loved it... There is literally nothing besides a chair and computer in this room and she was content for awhile. She looks so little just lying on the floor!
Chris believes that we lost our Husker game against UCLA because we weren't completely decked out in Husker gear. We had some on, but not enough in his mind. So this weekend - we took it further. Both Heidi and I had everything from red underwear to red bows. I guess it worked! Heidi doing her modeling! We signed Heidi up for gymnastics and when we went into the place - they asked us if Heidi was a cheerleader - ha!
Random Lucy
Lucy in her first dress up outfit, including a headband and bow.
Our neighbors were nice enough to invite us to a local apple orchard. It was a gorgeous day - almost too hot and fun to boot. You basically pay a small entry fee, take a wagon ride out to the orchards and can eat and pick as many apples as you want. Then you can also pack a bag full and pay a flat fee. Fun!
Hailey, Heidi and Bryn (Lincoln too) - enjoying the wagon ride. They really act like sisters. Heidi is OBSESSED with them and thankfully they are good sports and like playing with her. She loves to play with them!
Lucy sleeping in the baby bjorn...
Lucy still sleeping in the baby bjorn...
Chris and Joel discussing how many apples they both ate...the rumor was - Joel had 14... wow!
After picking apples, we tried their corn maze - it was HUGE and we ended up going out the entrance. Next time, we will pack a sandwich and make sure we don't have kids who run off down two different paths. I'm very surprised we didn't lose someone!
Enjoying the other attractions...
A couple final pictures - I always love the ciaos prior to a picture and then you somehow manage to get a decent one...

Yeah for Weight Gain
No...not me...Lucy!
We went to the doctor and Lucy met the weight gain requirements - finally! She had stalled out in her weight gain and it was all due to slow flow bottles. Go figure. We switched her to a faster flowing bottle and boom - she weighed in at 9lbs 4 ounces - up from 8lbs 12 ounces.
The doctor says she looks good and we don't have to supplement her food and she can keep having breast milk. Yeah!
Three pictures from today - a smile, a yawn and a mom get that phone out of my face!

Pictures...
I'm finding it increasingly difficult to name these blogs as its just random pictures and happenings... So I should just start dating them...
Anyways...
Things are going really well - Lucy is healing quickly and becoming more interactive and Heidi is doing well too.
Heidi and I ran to Trader Joe's for some football snacks and she wanted to pose in the outside cutout..
Sleeping Lucy - her hand gestures are VERY similar to how Heidi's were at this age. I think they are more alike than we realize.
I make sure to get plenty of pictures of Heidi too - whenever I'm taking pictures of Lucy.
Lucy in the play mat - not so happy at first...
Then - hmmm - what is this???
Tummy time...
And end of tummy time.
Lucy hasn't needed her pacifier to fall asleep and (knock on wood) doesn't seem to be "plugged" at night at all. Instead, I have noticed is she will suck on her tongue. The NICU nurses commented that its very common for babies from the NICU to find a way to self soothe since they aren't being held etc etc. I think Lucy has figured out how to put herself to sleep. I swear her tongue is not out all the time, just seems to occur when I want to take pictures.
Hi! I'm awake!
Heidi going in for a kiss and closeups...
Its difficult to try to get sibling pictures that Lucy's head doesn't look huge since she is in front... here is my first stab at it...
This is a picture from my phone - Lucy had just pooped out her car seat and I texted Chris saying - "Daddy" I'm just a messy pooper"
Heidi excited to try on flower girl dresses for our buddy's (Anisa and Jeff) wedding! She is super excited!
Enjoy the randomness!
