Here is a cell phone picture I took on her actual birthday (posted on Facebook) - she was very clear that she wanted to wear her "silly shirt" to school that day. Her silly shirt being of a minion from Despicable Me and her shirt being a total boys shirt from the clearance rack (thanks daddy). When I picked up Heidi from school, she did mention that a boy in her class had the same shirt on today and he told her its a boy shirt but she told him that girls can wear it too because that is what daddy said. Nice.
On her actual birthday (Thursday) She opened all of her presents from family - can you tell she is a tad bit spoiled by everyone! But it was great to have so many for her especially since no family could be around this time to celebrate! I do also have to apologize, most of the pictures I took opening presents are way too dark - heck we didn't even start opening present until like 9pm our time! I was also one tired preggo lady - so sorry if we missed some gift opening. Heidi honestly loved every single thing she received from her cards to her new underwear to the toys. She carefully opened each item, made sure to throw the wrapping paper away and then would thoroughly admire and look at her new item prior to moving onto the next. I don't think we got to bed until 10:30pm or later!

The next day she received a very creative birthday gift from her friend Ayla (Anne and Dean) - Anne had filled balloons with fun little toys and money and shipped them to Heidi. Heidi loved it!
A gift from us was a new family member - a fish. I'm not sure the name as it has changed almost everyday - it went from Memo to Coo Coo to Angel to Fish to Nemo back to Coo Coo and I think some other weird sounding ones in there. Today is Coo Coo - Not Coco - Coo Coo. Its day four and the fish is still alive - we are doing well!
Saturday was her birthday party! We invited just a couple of co workers and neighbors and had a really nice time. I once again did not take a ton of pictures - Its hard being the party hostess, pregnant and take pictures - but I did manage to get a few. We threw a Mexican fiesta complete with sombreros, necklaces and mustaches as well as the kids got to paint maracas and they got a little goodie box filled with fiesta themed toys. I do have to say - the food was pretty darn good. We introduced our Ohio people to our roll ups, cheese dip, 7 layer dip and several other staples we use to make for football parties. We also had steak and chicken fajitas and homemade salsa! Even the kids did a good job eating - they loved the crunchy tacos and cheese quesadillas. Our neighbor has a just 2 year old little boy who is hilarious, his nickname is tank. I watched this goofball every time someone got up from their plate of food - sit down and start eating. It was quite entertaining - he might have eaten the most out of everyone there!

Pinata time! Since we had a variety of kiddos there including most being young - we opted for the pull string pinata instead of "someone-always-gets-whacked" traditional pinata. For having 12 strings it came down to almost the last one before it finally opened up.
I think Heidi really did have a good time - it was a little too warm to play outside - but the kids were able to entertain themselves no problem inside. Everyone was also nice enough to bring Heidi presents and of course she loved them!
Today is hangover Sunday - Chris might actually have a slight hangover from the adult festivities - I have a I'm-sore-all-over-and-probably-did-way-too-much-yesterday hangover and I think Heidi has a sugar hangover. I mean - these kids finished like 30 juice boxes! Yikes - maybe next time I won't just put them in a cooler for them to take themselves!
Anyways - Heidi said it was okay to put together her trike - she didn't want it done before her party because she didn't want to share it. Kind of make sense. Chris slightly tired working on it - he actually said it was one of the easiest things to put together. Heidi was the director with the instructions.
The trike comes with a bell on the handle bars and Heidi seriously chimed it for about 10 minutes straight. I thought Chris was going to die!
It didn't take long before it was ready to go and we went out for a quick ride. It is rather hot today - so we only made one trip back and forth and she decided she will go out when it cooler tonight instead.
I was able to snap a few pictures in the shade - maybe one will be able to be used for her thank you cards. :)
Its too bad these are blurry!!!
I love this cell phone picture of Heidi. She wanted to wear her new twirly dress from Christina for her party and have her hair down with a headband. I think she looks so grown up! The outfit didn't last after she realized it could get messy from decorating the maracas - so after four other dresses - she decided on the gray and white dress from Christina as well. Our little 4 year old!
