Disney Day 2 - Rain & Epcot

Friday of our trip we did an easy switch of our hotel and headed off to Epcot. Honestly, we moved to Caribbean Beach resort since that was what we originally booked for the remainder of the week and I wished we would have stayed at Pop Century. Caribbean Beach resort should, yes "should" have been a moderate, nicer resort. The main lobby was nice, good pool and good pool bar, but the room was awful. Seriously awful. For being recently remodeled, our bathtub didn't work, the shower would drip, things were broken, it was dirty. I was not happy. Luckily... it is just a hotel room. We weren't in there that much and we made it work. Our hotel was the only disappointing part of our trip. We like to stay at different resorts to try them out and we can check this one off our list.

This is us waiting for our Uber to switch resorts and Chris said these are his faces for pictures today... nice.

Lucy was in pretend mode...

To Epcot we went! We knew the day was going to turn into major rain - so we took advantage of the sun while we had it. It was Flower and Garden show at Epcot and it was BEAUTIFUL. Just gorgeous. Plus they have all these food and drink booths and some other extra things.

One extra thing was a great butterfly garden. They did a really nice job of the garden and even had fantastic cast members helping the girls get butterflies to land. It was definitely one of those special moments at Disney.

Other activities were special playgrounds that were really cool and they had a couple different scavenger hunts. We did the egg one this day. There were 12 or 13 character eggs hidden around Epcot and at the end you got a cool nice egg with a magnet.

The storm clouds were rolling in - we joked on what country we wanted to get stuck in. China has a huge store, but the drinks we like are way out there. (Chris was grabbing a few to walk with). We made it all the way up to the America pavilion and the girls were eating (they have a basic hamburger/chicken/french fries and yogurt/apple sauce type menu - the girls love it) We were debating on which country to ride out the storm, when ALL of the cast members from outside come in. I mean, Florida has storms and we have been at Disney with storms. We have never seen them pull cast members from out and about.

We looked at each other and said - let's run to Japan! Japan has by far have the best store and they have some delicious drinks right outside their store.

We got to Japan just in time for it to POUR! I mean - heavy heavy rain - a sprinkle of thunder too. For some reason, even heavy rain is fun in Disney. We found a dry/covered place to ditch the stroller and the girls shopped. Chris had a magical moment - he went across the courtyard with his umbrella to grab some drinks. Everyone taking cover was laughing and cheering him on. Well... he couldn't carry two drinks and his umbrella. The super sweet cast member actually got her umbrella and walked Chris back with his drinks to us. Everyone was cheering and going nuts!

The rain let up enough for normal operations to start again after about 45/60 minutes. We didn't mind. We were in A/C with some good drinks, good shopping and people in good moods hanging out.

Because it was Flower and Garden, they had some special character sippers the girls had to get. I do have to admit, they are pretty darn cute!

We finished the rest of the world showcase and even found this random photographer hidden under the awning. I think he captured a great picture!

We ended the day at our favorite restaurant in all of Disney - Chef Art Smith's Homecoming and it was amazing as always. It's located at Disney Springs and we have to eat there every single time we go. That's saying something. We did some shopping in Disney Springs and was back in bed fairly early. I think rainy days are some of my favorite - usually crowds are less (which they totally were for us) and it helps keep it cooler in temp too!
