Easter Sunday! We made our decision to spend Easter at Disney and it turned out to be a beautiful day. We had breakfast at Be Our Guest which was delicious and quick and we were off in the park. Since we got there basically at rope drop for breakfast. We got to ride a bunch of rides before the crowds showed up. Easter is one of the busiest days of the year at Magic Kingdom especially and we were fine.
You have to hug the castle...I mean it IS a rule...
We got another ice cream treat - this time the new Hei Hei cone which was Raspberry and pineapple ice cream. SOOO good. There is a family debate which ice cream cone was better. If you don't know - its meant to look like the silly skinny chicken from the movie Moana - Hei Hei.
Our bunny ears for Easter
When we do rope drop, we don't always head to the big items, like Seven Dwarfs or Big Thunder Mountain. I usually can score Fastpasses for those rides. We actually go towards the other things - like Tales with Belle or meet the princesses. This time, Lucy got picked for the BIG role of the beast, which included scaring Belle and then she got to dance with her. It was very entertaining. Of course, Heidi was I think the dad, shivering in his jail cell and Chris was a knight.
Look at that commitment to the scare!
This trip Lucy just wanted to meet princesses. Princesses we met for sure with no wait! It was great. Tiana and Elena of Avalor were the best!
Look at that amazement. Lucy was ALL into it. Heidi was a good sport. Its not that she doesn't like the princesses, but she isn't as much into it as Lucy. Heidi likes more of the characters - like Mickey or Minnie.
Let's play a fun game... if you can zoom in on Cinderella... Talking with her, she was normal for Cinderella, but every time they went to do a picture she did crazy eyes. Like Crazy Eyes. Chris and I were trying to hold it together and not die laughing - same with Heidi. Maybe it isn't as bad in pictures, but in person - it was weird. We have never seen any of the characters do that before. Lucy didn't notice, thankfully, but it has become an inside joke between Chris, Heidi and I.
We love Magic Kingdom, but that place is all crazy. So many people and we just didn't want to spend our day waiting in lines. We once again got to do plenty of things. I think about 10 rides and meet n greets. We promised the girls some pool time too - back to the hotel we went and we went to the big pool. They had two slides, a splash pad and good pool bar drinks :)
Lucy owning her Disney and riding the bus. Ha.
We ended the evening with dinner at Sebastian's which is a new restaurant themed after the Little Mermaid and the crab character Sebastian. Its Caribbean type food - like jerk chicken and seafood. The food was a 10. We tried different dips and chips, bread and spreads, jerk chicken, pasta and tamales. I would say top 5 meals for food at Disney... so flavorful...
Now....the service... was awful - AWFUL. The waiter was the nicest guy, but we just couldn't get refills of water or they forgot an item for Lucy's meal and it took 4 times asking, a bar drink took 20 minutes (yes we timed it) etc. It just wasn't us either, other tables were doing a lot of standing looking for help. I feel bad, the food is some of the best we have eaten in Disney, but they have to get the front end figured out. Its not all the waiter's fault either - I mean - the waiter was having to clear tables, fold napkins and the main waiter station I swear was at another resort. I don't like it when waiter's don't have a section. He was trying to service 10 tables that were spread out across the restaurant with a main computer station that was across and back by the kitchen. We still left with our bellies VERY full and even though we had to beg for some service, it didn't put a damper on our day. It was a beautiful day and a great Easter! This was about our half way point and we were still going strong!
